Founded by clients with the support and partnership of the Sonoma County Mental Health Division and Goodwill Industries of the Redwood Empire, Interlink is part of the client self-help movement, now nearly 40 years old. This movement has had so much success that it has caused a paradigm shift in the mental health field affecting the many various related professions as well as academia's approach. The focus has shifted to not only that people can recover, but how we can help each other become more in charge of figuring out our own, critical role in our recovery.
Interlink provides many groups, one-to-one support, Peer Support Training, and information and referral to other agencies and resources, as well as a safe environment for people to explore their mental health recovery.
Consistent with the ethics of the client movement, Interlink does not seek to exclude people who wish to participate. More than 60% of the people we serve meet the federal definition for homelessness. The only criteria for Membership is experience with emotional or mental disabilities that have created problems in one's live. To become a Member, stop by for an initial intake conversation. You'll learn what we offer and get a chance to explore how you may want to make use of the resources of this self help community.
